As Floating Point™ we build computer-graphics systems for secure industrial engineering. We prioritize ethics and human kindness over profit and personal-gain. Floating Point™ workstations are designed to operate off-grid and air-gapped. This means your engineering projects cannot be placed under surveillance by competitors.
Decentralized Hardware
The greatest threats to human-advancement are those centralized, legacy control-systems which obscure and manipulate information. At Floating Point™ our superchip-powered computer systems provide organizations with a local alternative to the data-fragility of the legacy-internet. We eliminate dependency on global networks.
Industrial Programming
At Floating Point™ we're advocates of the C programming language. Our core tool is the C99 variant for critical hardware; and for fun. Despite recent attempts to undermine it, the C programming language remains the world's most robust and road-tested. Floating Point™ prizes durability above temporary fashions.
Embedded Electronics
At Floating Point™ we write lightweight, ultra-efficient code that runs close-to-the-metal on micro-controllers (MCUs). We also program micro-processor (MPU) systems and FPGAs (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays). The Floating Point™ philosophy is one of minimalism and power-optimization. We value elegance of execution.
Technical Visualization
The art department at Floating Point™ is also our engineering department. We reject the idea that the arts and sciences should be divided into separate camps. For this reason, our concept visualizations are always grounded in the stark reality of mechanical and structural engineering limitations. Every concept we draft can actually be built.
Optimistic Futurism
Floating Point™ is tired of the doom-scroll mindset. Instead of global catastrophe, we promote a vision of the future that is optimistic. As earth's information systems decentralize, new communities are establishing themselves; tribes of post-internet, off-grid, neo-nomads who seek minimalism, freedom, and adventure, mediated by mesh networks.
Floating Point™ represents the third-wave of digital information retrieval. The first wave was embodied by discrete-storage, on magnetic or optical disc. The second-wave was a globally-interconnected computer network which evolved into the surveillance and narrative-control system we call the "internet".
The legacy surveillance-internet evolved into a tool for human exploitation rather than human knowledge-storage. While it remains useful for encrypted interpersonal communication, and logistics, the legacy-internet is no longer a source of information. It is a source of psychological manipulation.
Floating Point™ is replacing the dead internet. The internet is no longer a source of knowledge, or a tool for learning and discovery. Our mission at Floating Point™ is to build personalized, off-grid, local, superchip systems. These superchip libraries cannot be censored; manipulated; or monitored.
Floating Point™ meditates at the crest of the third-wave. We create decentralized superchip systems that contain all the knowledge from the legacy-internet, and more, but remain local and off-grid; delivering ultimate security and customization. Our workstations are completely air-gapped; practically unhackable.
The signal to noise ratio of legacy-internet derived data has reached a point where zero data from this source can be trusted. Most internet traffic is automated by machines that drive engagement on behalf of mega-corporations. The internet became ghosts arguing with ghosts about nothing.
Our superchip library invokes two phases. The first phase is the collation of existing data sources: Books, magazines, or journals that you trust. This data is then ingested by the superchip system. The second phase involves teaching the superchip system to interpret this library of information intelligently.
